About Us

The first Yorkshire Grant Makers’ Forum was held in 1993 at the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust offices in York. At the time there were events for trusts and foundations held in London, but there were no opportunities for local grant givers to meet up and share ideas and insights as a group.

The Forums were established particularly for smaller Yorkshire charitable trusts and foundations, who didn’t necessarily have the resources or time to travel to London, but the events have generally also been attended by local representatives from larger funders such as the Big Lottery, Fund Comic Relief, the Allen Lane Foundation, Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation and Community Foundations.
